Este proyecto comenzó hace ocho meses. Cuando la Dra. Sara Guillén, quien es Consejera de Estudios y profesora de Historia y Español del Gymnasiums der Hermann- Gundert- Schule Calw, me propuso la idea de hacer un trabajo que pudiese ser aprovechado para que los alumnos de esta escuela combinaran el aprendizaje de español con la política y supieran sobre la situación que vive actualmente Venezuela.

Por supuesto, le dije que si.

Ella contactó a la Señora Marieke Henriques, directora de relaciones públicas de la vhs de Calw para hacer una cita el 7 de Febrero de 2018.
Tuvimos la reunión, la Dra. Guillén planteó el proyecto, yo me llevé una muestra de mi portafolio. La Señora Henriques mostró un gran interés y total apertura. El paso siguiente era afinar todos los detalles.

En estos meses, no hubo vacaciones de verano, ni fines de semana libres.

Paralelamente estudio alemán y el 13 de Octubre de 2018, mi esposo,  y yo presentaríamos un exámen importante, por lo que tuvimos una exigente preparación para esta prueba que haríamos con un jurado.

Pero estas situaciones son así. La palabra sacrificio está implicada.
Así que la familia fue de los primeros lugares donde hubo que robar el tiempo. La comprensión de mis hijos, fue su gran aporte.

   Otro punto importante, es que no tenía sentido hacer ésto y que sólo estuviese en español. Por lo que en este equipo -VOLUNTARIO- de trabajo participó otra persona maravillosa con un corazón inmenso: mi hermana alemana, Claudia Ángela Walter-Österlein. Ella me acompañó durante todos estos meses, revisando cada párrafo, frase y título, buacando la palabra correcta. También fue una de las dos muletas que me animaba en esos días que mi corazón se arrugaba.

Mi esposo, Luis Albers Landaeta, fue la otra, además su participación activa durante la investigación del material, la composición y el montaje de las imágenes en aula fue de A1.  Doy a gracias a Dios por la maravillosa familia que me rodea.  Sin ellos no lo habría logrado.

Leer los 20 años de dictadura en Venezuela y revivir tantas cosas, me hizo darme cuenta que mi alma no estaba lista para enfrentar la investigación; Es que aunque no estoy físicamente en mi país no habrá nada que lo saque de mi corazón. Y duele. Cada mala noticia, los ataques a nuestro pueblo, a los más débiles; que por culpa de un pequeño grupo de asesinos, tantos millones de personas estén sufriendo.

Por eso dije que si. Porque nunca he sido cómplice de esa corrupción. El genocidio en Venezuela hay que denunciarlo.

Y los Venezolanos buenos, que somos más, debemos seguir unidos. Los que estamos afuera, tenemos la responsabilidad de mostrar nuestros valores, lo trabajadores que somos, entusiastas, alegres, respetuosos y creativos.
Esa es nuestra mejor tarjeta de presentación.

Esos chabacanos, vulgares, vivos y oportunistas no me representan, ni representan a mi País, son solo la espuma que se levantó con los soplidos destructivos y llenos de odio de un «ser humano» con un gran complejo de inferioridad; (que por cierto, ya no existe en este planeta) y que arrastró a otros resentidos con distintas patologías. Ese grupo de individuos son minoría.

Como ya dije, el proceso de trabajo de esta exposición fue una montaña rusa entre tristeza y dolor. Pero todo cobró sentido cuando comencé a ilustrar a los héroes, a nuestros héroes.
Mi esposo escribió la lista y se encargó de buscar las fotografías de todos los que tenían una imagen en Internet. La lista suma más de 170 personas.
No logré terminar de dibujarlos, apenas hice 42 de ellos. Pero tampoco habrían alcanzado las paredes. Y esos sólo fueron los valientes que salieron a las calles a protestar. Nosotros sabemos que hay muchos más.
Porque cada venezolano que sale a la calle a trabajar y a hacer una cola por horas, para conseguir alimento, es un héroe.
Pienso que cualquier homenaje será pequeño.

Diseñé y dibujé todo lo que está en esta exposición, no fue fácil para mi alma, pero lo hice desde el corazón, es lo menos que puedo hacer para contar la verdad de lo que vive mi gente.

This project started eight months ago. When Dr. Sara Guillén, who is Counsellor of Studies and professor of History and Spanish at the Gymnasiums der Hermann-Gundert-Schule Calw, proposed the idea of doing a job that could be taken advantage of so that the students of this school could combine learning Spanish with politics and know about the current situation in Venezuela.

Of course, I said yes.

She contacted Mrs. Marieke Henriques, director of public relations for the Calw VHS to make an appointment on February 7, 2018.
We had the meeting, Dr. Guillén proposed the project, I took a sample of my portfolio. Mrs. Henriques showed great interest and total openness. The next step was to fine-tune all the details.

In these months, there were no summer vacations or free Sundays.

At the same time, my husband (Luis Albers Landaeta) and I would take an important exam on October 13, 2018, so we had a demanding preparation for this test that we would do with a jury.

But these situations are like that. The word sacrifice is implied.
So the family was one of the first places where time had to be stolen. My children’s understanding was their great contribution.

Another important point is that it didn’t make sense to do this and that it was only in Spanish. So another wonderful person with an immense heart participated in this work team -VOLUNTEER-: my German sister, Claudia Ángela Walter-Österlein. She accompanied me through all these months, reviewing each paragraph, phrase, and title, looking for the right word. It was also one of the two crutches that encouraged me in those days when my heart was wrinkling.
My husband, Luis Albers Landaeta, was the other one, in addition, his active participation during the research of the material, the composition and the assembly of the images in the exposition space, was A1.

I thank God for the wonderful family around me.

Without them, I wouldn’t have made it. Reading the 20 years of dictatorship in Venezuela and reliving so many things, made me realize that my soul was not ready to face the investigation; it is that although I am not physically in my country there will be nothing that takes it out of my heart. And it hurts. Every bad news, the attacks on our people, on the weakest; that because of a small group of murderers, so many millions of people are suffering.
That’s why I said yes. Because I’ve never been an accessory to that corruption. The genocide in Venezuela must be denounced.

And good Venezuelans, who are more, must remain united. Those of us who are outside have a responsibility to show our values, how hardworking we are, enthusiastic, cheerful, respectful and creative.
That’s our best calling card.

These vulgar, living and opportunistic people do not represent me, they do not represent my country, they are only the foam that was raised by the destructive and hateful blows of a «human being» with a big inferiority complex; (which, by the way, he do not longer exist on this planet) and that dragged other resentful people with different pathologies. That group of persons is a minority.

As I said, the work process of this exhibition was a roller coaster between sadness and pain. But it all made sense when I started illustrating the heroes, our heroes.
My husband wrote the list and was in charge of looking for the photos of everyone who had a photo on the Internet. The list adds up to more than 170 people.
I couldn’t finish drawing them, I barely made 42 of them. But they wouldn’t have reached the walls either. And those were just the brave ones who took to the streets to protest. We know there are many more.
Because every Venezuelan who goes out on the street to work and stand in line to get food is a hero.
I think any tribute will be small.

I designed and drew everything that is in this exhibition, it was not easy for my soul, but I did it from the heart, is the least I can do, to tell the truth of what my people live.
